Endless dreary sage brush, slogging through sleet and snow, they found their way through centuries of time. Western European cowboys undercut the natives of thousands of years. But these bison pay no mind to neither.
This land is their land.
They know no boundary save the Snake River in a harsh winter. It was into these lands we stumbled. Not knowing where we were, which way was up, or even north. There was only the Tetons dominating the scene and any sense of time. With a snicker they seem to laugh at our feebleness.
The water flowed relentlessly. I dreamed of somehow sending some to the left coast where it is desperately needed.
We met with many of the locals, they seemed uninterested in our politics and appearance. So I felt very much a home. Relaxing really. Although unmasked, I felt safer with them than some of the other natives we encountered.
The scenery indoors was almost as inviting as what we saw outdoors.
Our journey into Yellowstone was mesmerizing. Like being on another planet.
This brother got a little too close but he did make a statement. His way or the highway… We all got the message and stayed out of his way.
Everyone kinda did their own thing on this trip. No matter what others thought.
Celebrating our 35th Anniversary to boot. Cheers to all!
Beautiful…..where the deer and the antelope roam……………..you and Sue were a part of it something so much bigger…..
With love,
